Adjunct Associate Professor
Pratt Institute
Schools of Architecture and Design
During her tenure at Pratt, Jaime allocated forty percent of her time to professional planning practice, through the supervision, preparation and presentation of research projects. All projects were client driven with either community based organizations or City and State agencies as the clients. Many were funded and those not, were able to flourish with the participation of Jaime’s research fellows and integration into Jaime’s studio courses. Such courses included, Planning for Sustainable Communities, a course which Jaime co-created and taught with her mentor and 2013 Planning Pioneer: National Planning Excellence Award winner, Ronald Shiffman, FAICP. Ron and Jaime engaged aspiring planners and community based organizations in this studio course each Fall semester over the course of 10 years. Such support for unfunded projects created many rich experiential learning opportunities for aspiring Planners and allowed Jaime the opportunity to expand her reach beyond the gates of Pratt.
